I’m back with some really good news!
WE ARE DOING IT AGAIN!!! The Lovely*heart project is going to happen for the 2nd time on Feb. 14th, 2010(I’m still having trouble writing 2010..are you?). The reason we are so very excited about this is because this year, in addition to St.Charles Medical Center in Bend, we are trying to get hold of Emanuel Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR. We are very excited about this, but we need your help. We have exactly 1 month, 0 days, 7 hours, 6 minutes, and 30 seconds to make this project happen. I know it sounds like very little time..but I am convinced we can make it happen. Here are the rules:
-All stuffed animals must be handmade or store bought brand new(sorry we cannot take hand-me-downs or stuffed animals that are just lying around your house. these stuffed animals have to be clean and new for the sake of the children. they have very low immune systems, and we wouldn’t want any bug to get to them because of our giving them an old stuffed animal)…so, clean and new please.
-We haven’t set a due date yet, but I am thinking we are going to need all the stuffed animals the week before Feb. 14th(we may have to send them to Emanuel, because they are very tight on letting visitors come in).
-The more colour the better(o;

O! and don’t forget to spread the news! Let everyone know..we are going to need a lot of help.

February 14th. Valentine’s Day.
1 project.
1 hospital.
8 balloons.
24 stuffed animals.
7 children.
30 valentines.
Many smiles.
And one very happy man.
The Lovely Heart Project is done. We did it! It was a beautiful day – filled with rain and snow – but lovely nonetheless. We headed off to St. Charles medical Center and arrived at 1 o’clock. Not on the dot at all. We were late. But we did get there. And The Lovely Heart Project did happen! We ran to the hospital, through the snow, pulling balloons and carrying a box filled with stuffed animals. Went in through the special revolving door. Talked to a very amusing man who directed us to our destination (whom we later had the pleasure of making very happy by leaving him a much wished for balloon and a valentine). Made our way to the fifth floor. Called the pediatric unit. And did it. Oh joy, we did it. So many smiles given. So many received. Oh joy. So many amazing things that took place. Giving the stuffed animals. Accidentally going into the employees elevator. Handing out valentines to random people. It was lovely. Oh joy. The Lovely Heart Project. We did it.

It’s dreary and dark outside.
The weather is cold.
A very bitter day.
But lovely nonetheless.
For we have a hospital! The Lovely Heart Project is almost here. We are almost there. Valentine’s Day is only a few days away. To those of you who haven’t shipped out your stuffed animals yet, now would be the time to do so. To those of you who have, Thank you. We are almost there. We are almost there…The joy of those words. Oh such joy.

We have a new Media section! This tab will hold all our patterns, and anything else that we have to offer you. I would like to remind you that you do not have to use our patterns. You can use any pattern you want! Make it up(o: Or, if you are not to fond of sewing, we are taking store bought stuffed animals as well. As of now, we have a little more than a month left before we get to distribute to the children.
If you are going to participate with this project please register with this site. Just look up at the tabs(do you see them?), then click the register button(yes! that’s it!) and register with us. Love*your neighbour has decided to add a new idea to the project. We have given much thought to this, and we have decided that we are going to take store bought stuffed animals as well. We realized that only a small fraction of people can sew(much less enjoy it!), and we want to include as many people as possible in the project. So, even if you can’t sew we need your help! Right now, I am sitting here looking at the countdown(isn’t it spiffy? a friend helped with it(o: Thank you), and we now have 2 months, 15 days, 22 hours, and 49 min. I must say we are coming down to the line! I would like to apologize for such slow progress. This week we are working on a promo video that you can share with your friends. We are so excited for the video! We are hoping that it would get the word out for the lovely heart project. Plus, we are going to work on getting patterns on the site. Please be patient.
